Equine Rescue Resource Inc. (E.R.R.) will be more than happy to discuss retirement options with you.
In order for us to accept your horse, the following are our requirements:
  • Negative coggins within the last 12 months.
  • Sign a Relinquish Agreement
  • Sign a Veterinary Records Release Form
  • Provide delivery to our Pine Bush facility or provide E.R.R. 30 days advance notice in the event we must provide pick-up service.

Please know, as of March 31, 2003, some of our policies have changed.  Going forward:
  • only directors of Equine Rescue Resource Inc. can enter into a Relinquish Agreement or a Placement Agreement;
  • all potential volunteers must complete an application and be approved before participating in any official or volunteer capacity.

The SLAPP program pilot ended as of March 31, 2003.   Going forward, all retiring standardbred horses will only be received at E.R.R.'s Pine Bush, NY, facility.  If you have not signed an E.R.R. Relinquish Agreement, then your horse is not a program member and not under our care, custody or control.  Please know that we will continue with our policies of site inspections, adopter screening and protective placement agreements.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact E.R.R. at (845) 744-1728 or
